José Luis Montañez Espinosa, Director of the Institute of science technology and innovation, said that the ICTI will propose several points to the incoming Federal Government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to improve the conditions for research institutes as well as Mexican researchers.
Among the topics to be treated, Montañez Espinosa stressed federalize resources directly to States, since before they must go through a filter at the Conacyt, in addition to strengthening the chapter for technologists and innovators and reach the minimum of resources granted to the research.
He mentioned that in Michoacan there are about 700 doctors, placing the institution in the place number 10 in the subject. Therefore, the director of the ICTI invited Michoacan investigators to join the call for State registration, in order to have a system of investigations and facilitate institutional interaction with research centres or universities.
