Moscow (AP) – Russia said on Wednesday that is helping the return of Syrian refugees to their country and for the reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed during the civil war. The Ministry of defence of Russia has undertaken work to rebuild dozens of power stations, schools and other vital institutions in Syria, said Colonel general Mijaíl Mizintsev said on a teleconference involving officials Russians and Syrians.

“The Syrian Government seeks to simplify formalities for the refugees who return, as well as to repair homes and create jobs,” said Makhlouf, who added that the authorities also seek to streamline legislative initiatives that facilitate the return of those people. Makhlouf rejected that some refugees will be arrested on their return and described such claims as “propaganda”.
The Minister urged Western Nations to lift sanctions imposed on Syria at the start of the seven-year conflict, to help the post-war reconstruction and encourage the return of refugees.
