Mexico.-the Council political national (NPC) of the party revolutionary institutional ratified unanimously to Claudia Ruiz Massieu as Chairperson of the Committee National Executive of this political Institute, to conclude the statutory period 2015-2019.
The event was held during the extraordinary session XLIII of the NPC of the PRI, which was held in the Auditorium “Plutarco Elias Calles” from PRI headquarters.
After pay protest as President of CEN, Ruiz Massieu called on the PRI to close ranks to reform the party and strengthen it: “close ranks to defend our party. We close ranks to serve the people and to face the future. “Together and in unity, we will achieve”.
He made a strong self-criticism to the party and said that “we forget our origins when abandon the political action of base, we favor pragmatism over our principles, we allow ourselves to be seduced by the power”.
“We left to cynics and abusive they stained the image and hurt the reputation of the millions of women and men honored, Patriots and workers of the PRI, the militants that touch the doors and call for the vote for us;” public servants who work tirelessly for Mexico; the social leaders who are the face of the party in every corner of the country”, said.
In his message, he called to prosecute the power of activism to reform the PRI, stressing that it must not confuse change with rupture.
“We conclude the period of reflection and diagnosis in which we are. That their results may be the starting point of the inclusive, open, deliberative process where the participation of all voices, expressions and opinions of our party”, she said.
And said: “we need a reform of shape and background, where we are willing to put it all on the table, so we want to keep, as what we need to change”.
“What citizenship will be evaluated in the next election is not what we do in, but what you do outside, our results and honesty where we are Government, our consistency and courage where US opposition, our behavior and personal attitudes as PRI”, he added.
Together, he said, we will be defining times, methods and actions. My responsibility is to lead, for one year, this effort, which will take us to define the reform we want. The task of executing this reform is the responsibility of the leadership that we choose within a year.
The President of CEN pointed out that in the legislature the PRI will be strong, critical, opposition watchful and brave that Mexicans need. “We will be a true counterweight, that speaks to you front to the Federal Government: with arguments, ideas and principles.” We will be an opposition constructive, but non-permissive”, he said.
In this framework, announced that within a period not more than 60 days, shall convene the election of a Secretary-General that emerges from the ranks of the PRI, so complete and strengthen the National Executive Committee.
