Roberta Bayley worked as a receptionist in the now legendary CBGB, the New York club that gave birth to the most iconic bands of the punk world. Today, Bayley is referred to as “the photographer of The Ramones”, because he managed to forge a friendship with them due to their primitive profession.
With 68 years and an extensive and successful career, Roberta Bayley arrives for the first time to the city of Buenos Aires to exhibit their best works.
Roberta Bayley, photographer of The Ramones, presents his work | Photo: Courtesy press “RAMONES & CBGB / chaos culture” landed in the Centro Cultural Borges (Viamonte 525) from September 7 and until the 30th of the same month: there you can enjoy a selection of images that record the beginnings of the movement cultural that changed music forever.
In addition to the Quartet of Queens, punk celebrities passed through the legendary CBGB, such as Iggy Pop, Blondie, Richard Hell, Elvis Costello, The Sex Pistols, Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers, Joe Strummer, The Ramones, Nick Lowe, The Damned, The Clash, The Dead Boys and The New York Dolls.
