the Inspectorate General of the Attorney General of the Republic – oversight body of dependence – launched an investigation against officials of PGR for possible offences of bribery and against the administration of Justice in the criminal proceedings against the former Governor of Veracruz, Ochoa Javier Duarte.
The Agency started this folder, then the TOJIL strategy against impunity organization filed a criminal complaint before the PGR by possible acts of corruption in the procedure which led to a sentence of nine years against the Uribe.
The Organization, who requested to be “adjuvant” in this new research, shall prove to be the victim in the criminal procedure, and be recognized as such (either before a judge or the public prosecutor’s Office) there will be a precedent in matters of transparency and access to justice in cases of corruption in Mexico, according to the own initiative.
“The implications of this would be that if you recognized this character as the collective representative of the interests of society in the crimes of corruption, may have access to all the research record and even requested necessitating acts of” research as an adjunct of the public prosecutor’s Office and thus prevent irregularities or negligence,”explained TOJIL.

On 26 September Javier Duarte received a sentence of nine years in prison to accept his guilt for the crimes of money laundering and criminal association, as well as confiscation 40 and 58 thousand dollars of fine payment. The above is the result of the criminal process that started the PGR against by companies using phantom for the diversion of resources.
However the case is not yet closed. The former Governor of Veracruz will face other two processes against which are already underway, one by the illegal use of a helicopter and the other by the alleged diversion of 200 million pesos that were labeled for waterworks.
