translated from Spanish: Of Tucapel to La Serena: If together we dream, together we can build

It always seems that importantly occurs in Santiago and that, by default, or history, regions people have less access, in the broadest sense of the word.
In many cases it is true, and therefore the decentralization has been an issue on the agendas of the various government administrations to set up new regions; However, there are communal efforts which, by being small, are nearly invisible in this crusade; but that if you look at them more closely, they can discover even epic, and transcendental experiences of those that change you life and you mark to fire.
Such is the case of the municipality of Tucapel, which, for the second consecutive year, despite being a rural municipality pre Andean province of Biobío, with large emergencies and few resources, is able to invest in the future of their children to give them an experience only they have seen in the media as a fiction that only happens to other children. To those who are at the moment and in the right place (which is never their own).
For those who do not know, the municipality of Tucapel has only 14 thousand inhabitants which are distributed in 4 villages: Huepil, Polcura, Trupan and Tucapel and the population of children and adolescents, under the age of 15 is 20%.
The urgencies of the rural localities tend to go very unnoticed for the majority of Chileans. There are places that do not have paved roads; sometimes lack of electric light. There are people who only knows, even in the 21st century, we should not take of the tap water, because it is well. And, when you go to the bathroom has to be careful not to fall into a black hole.
Why is so important to the effort that has made the municipality from Tucapel, to demonstrate to their children that the world is enormous, that possibilities also exist for them, who can fly and not only symbolically.
Mayor Jaime Veloso Jara knows the importance of creating life experiences to expand the imaginary horizon of the children of your community. For this reason, through the Department of education approved resources, understanding that, far from being an expense to the commune, take the kids to a student tour to La Serena, is an investment for the future.
Within the activities planned for the children of the commune of Tucapel are visits to aquariums of the Universidad del Norte, to the House and Gabriela Mistral Museum, the Astronomical Observatory Mamalluca, to the main cathedrals of the city and a sporting event in Paihuano.
This year is the second time that this tour is for eighth grade students and middle third of public high schools of the commune and the first experience, carried out the year 2017 resulted in important changes in the students who participated in this experience, both academic and behavioral.
Manuel Castillo Quezada, director of the Luis Martínez González basic school in the village of Huepil has pointed out that change in children was so positive and so evident, that hopefully will keep this experience in time, so that future generations can also experience this “learn to live” that teaches them, despite not being in the belly of the country, also have right to fly, to travel, to know that other Chile is possible, beyond the greenery of the Bío-Bío province, where there are other needs and other wonders; other challenges that can be solved in the fraternity that is generated to meet us.
