Puerto Rico, Panama, the city of Salvador (Brazil), Costalegre (Mexico) region and the Valley of Elqui (Chile), are five Latin American destinations that the influential American newspaper New York Times (NYT) included in its list of 52 places in the world that there are to visit in 2019.
Under the title “52 places to go in 2019, a kit home to escape to the world”, the newspaper launched its annual proposal for formulating, as it ensures, sought the opinion of its editors of travel.
To select places that may be endangered by climate change, because expected the Organization of any event in them or because they are seen as the “most interesting”, among other factors were taken into account.
As we already know, Puerto Rico topped the list drawn up by the newspaper, noted that the island “starts to recover” after the hurricane Maria, who hit 20 September 2017.
Such accolade by the New York journal was highly celebrated the entities responsible for promoting Puerto Rico as a tourist destination, both for the Governor Ricardo Rosselló.
Panama, at number four has been highlighted by the “new centers of ecotourism on the Pacific Coast”.
A photograph of the Pelourinho district and the Church of our Lady of the Rosary of the Prietos presents the Brazilian town of el Salvador (post 14), presented with the title “the original capital of the country is renewed” after the conclusion of a five-year plan for to preserve its architecture.
The hotel Las Alamandas serves to the NYT as Costalegre (Mexico), the destination number 16 which the Rotary stands 43 beaches and their capes and bays that offer a “holiday of beach without the crowds”.
“Eclipsemania and the nights of dark skies” are the two elements chosen by the NYT to highlight in the Elqui Valley, ranked 51 places to visit in this 2019.
Tourist destinations also include the Falkland Islands, located in South America and in the United Kingdom.
And the most recommended in Europe, Africa and Asia…
In Europe the New York journal recommends 16 places to travel this year, from Munich (Germany) to Vevey (Switzerland), passing through Marseille (France), Gulf Paradise (Italy), the Olkhon Island (Russia), Zadar (Croatia) and the Azores (Portugal).
As list 50, the NYT proposes Cádiz (Spain) by its “culinary Renaissance” and your environment “cities and glittering peoples of southwest of Andalusia”.
Africa is represented with Tunisia, Dakar, Senegal, and Gambia; Asia, with a dozen of places like Iran, Doha (Qatar), Eilat (Israel), the Islands Setouchi (Japan), Hong Kong (China) or Da Nang (Viet Nam) and Oceania with three destinations such as the city of Perth (Australia).
The journal also collects a dozen of sites in the United States to visit this 2019, notably, in addition to the city of New York, other destinations such as the city of Columbus, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, or Wyoming.
