As well as Loin of tuna in water, tuna headaches, with 140 g NET content and mass drained 100 g. (1 to 3.0% on drained ground soy); yellowfin tuna in water in flake, Calmex, with 140 g NET content and mass drained 90 g (1 to 2.0% by mass drained soya), among others.
He explained that the study found that three products contain less drained mass and three products have less content NET, failing with the NOM-002-SCFI-2011, products preenvasados-Contenido NET-tolerances and methods of verification.
Evaluated products, 7 found that they violate the presentation offered, failing in the NOM-084-SCFI-1994, information trade-specifications of commercial and health information for tuna and bonita pre packaged products.
Hence, Profeco recommended to the consumer, at the time of purchase packaged tuna, carefully read the label, check the ingredients on the label to identify if the product contains soy, check the expiration date and not drink containers with any alteration and unpleasant texture.
He said that by purchasing them, cans of tuna should be kept in places free of moisture and away from high temperatures. If not consumed the product in its entirety should be stored in a clean container and refrigerate.
