(AFP) – the bodies of two climbers from United Kingdom and Italy were found in Northern Pakistan almost two weeks since they disappeared, said on Saturday the Italian Ambassador in the country as iatico. The last time that you heard of mountaineers Tom Ballard and Daniele Nardi was on February 24, when they were climbing the Nanga Parbat (8.125 m), the ninth highest mountain in the world. Ballard is the son of the British Mountaineer Alison Hargreaves, the first woman who conquered Mount Everest alone and without oxygen. Hargreaves died in 1995 during the descent of K2, the second highest peak in the world, also in the North of Pakistan.

“It pains me to announce that the search has officially ended,” he wrote.
“The search team confirmed that the detected silhouettes (…)” about 5,900 meters they are Daniele and Tom”. An announcement on the Facebook page of Nardi confirmed deaths.

They were found thanks to the work of a team of Spanish mountaineers assisted the Pakistani climber Rehmatullah Baig, which peaked with the dead part of the road. The search was delayed because rescuers had to wait for permission to send a helicopter to the area, since Pakistan closed its airspace on Wednesday in response to the escalation of tensions with India.
