-Patzcuaro, Michoacan.-following the publication in the official State newspaper of the regulation prohibiting a single use, the municipal President, Víctor Báez plastics Eyebrow, he said that Patzcuaro becomes model to follow because now they have a legal instrument that allows you to take care of natural resources and ensure the health of the inhabitants. 
He said that the regulations for the management of Integral management of solid waste, published Monday in the official State newspaper, aims to ban the use of plastic bags, drinking straws, containers of inflated plastic – styrofoam – and, in general, all those polymers derived from petroleum that are for single use only.   
However, said the Mayor, their application of this regulation will be gradually in order not to affect businesses, the economy and in general persons who by their activities have to make use of these tools for their daily work. 
The regulation has as main characteristics that is attached to the new model of human rights applicable from 2011, which includes “the human right to a media environment healthy” and the regulation of the integral management of solid waste in order to take care of natural resources and human health. 
In addition, it provides the right of guarantee of hearing of citizenship which aims to avoid that they are sanctioned or fined to the free decision of the authority. I.e. will be opportunity to sign agreements they have the guarantee of hearing and the facilities, “because the intention is not fined but awareness”. 
He mentioned that this legal instrument will stop the main environmental problems caused by poor management of solid waste, such as deterioration of the soils through pollution, contamination of bodies – Patzcuaro lake – water and the atmosphere, blocking of drains, the proliferation of harmful fauna and over-exploitation of resources.  
In this sense concerned that they reach 60 tons of which plastic single use, in contrast, more than 70 percent are in Pátzcuaro in Michoacán generated more than 3 thousand tons of garbage daily, focusing two thirds of the garbage in the 12 cities des more large State. 
At the end, it urged the mayors of the State of Michoacán to sign this project which “seeks to contribute a bit to save the planet”.
