This Friday was the formalization by prevarication and illicit enrichment of the judge of the Court of appeals of Rancagua, Emilio Elgueta, where the Prosecutor of Alta Complejidad de O’Higgins, Sergio Moya, detailed the evidence against her.
The Prosecutor of Alta Complejidad de O’Higgins, Sergio Moya, explained how in criminal, civil and labour failure, Elgueta would have revealed secrets of the trial involved people, as well as a supposed illicit enrichment, according to La Tercera. “Between 2016 and 2018 Minister Emilio Elgueta Torres, during the exercise of his office, got a relevant patrimonial increase unjustified for the sum of $28.652.021,” said Prosecutor Moya at the hearing today. In the same vein, the Prosecutor argued that “this sum is equivalent to 50% of your rent or annual remuneration that gives the judiciary. Therefore, unjustified, and relevant aspects should be considered when your income as an employee of the Judicial Branch every time you don’t have another way of income that is not developing class which receives a much lower than the $28 million sum”. In this regard, and following the hearing, Sergio Moya told the press that “we are working with bribery. There are certainly suspicious income and therefore we have formalized today for illicit enrichment. We could already do the linking of certain payments to certain resolutions, implying that some lawyers are eventually formalized by bribery”, said.
