WHO explains that the proper nutrition and the consumption of these foods could save 1.7 million lives around the world. For its part, the Organization of the United Nations for food (FAO) explained recommended approximate consumption of 400 grams per day of fruits and vegetables, excluding potatoes and other root vegetables to prevent heart disease, diabetes or obesity , and mitigate several micronutrient deficiencies.
