The director of public security of the municipality of Zamora, Michoacán, Daniel Torres, was killed in the early hours of Monday, confirmed the Mayor Martín Samaguey.
According to Quadratin news portal police chief was shot with bullets in the colonia El Porvenir, in the municipality of Ocotlán, Jalisco, by a group of armed men.

So far they have not given to know more details about this fact, however, it is known that after the attack, Torres was transferred to a clinic in nearby IMSS where he died hours later from the wounds.
Mayor Martín Samaguey confirmed the murder through their social networks. “Captain Daniel Torres: Director of public safety of Zamora, Mich.” Rest in peace. God have it in glory”, says one of their tweets published this Monday.

The incident occurred less than a week of the killing of the Mayor of Nahuatzen, David Otlica Avilés.
Daniel Torres, military training, was appointed at the head of the Directorate of public security in Zamora, in October 2018.
