In April 2019, the Consumer confidence Indicator (ICC) recorded a decrease of 0.9 points with seasonality-adjusted data.
Four of its components recorded casualties, while one remained unchanged, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).
This is the second consecutive month that recorded a fall, after that in March decreased 1.3%.
With seasonally figures, in the fourth month of 2019 the component that refers to the economic situation at the present time of the members of the household compared with the one they had 12 months ago, fell 0.1 points compared to last March.
The item evaluating the expected economic situation of the members of the household within 12 months, with respect to the current declined 0.5 points; Meanwhile, the variable that measures the economic situation of the country today, compared to that of 12 months ago fell 1.6 points per month.
The indicator that captures the country’s economic situation within 12 months, compared to the current one, fell 2.8 points, and finally, the component regarding the possibilities at the present time of the members of the household, compared with those of a year ago, to carry out Purchases of furniture, television, washing machine, other household appliances, etcetera, remained unchanged in front of last March.
While in its annual measurement, the indicator was located at 46.6 points, which represented an increase of 10.2 points compared to the same month of 2018 and 21 months with annual rate hikes.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) explained that within the indicator made jointly with the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), in April there were annual increases in its five components.
Thus, the component on the economic situation at the present time of the members of the household compared with the one they had 12 months ago, grew 5.3%, in its annual comparison.
