Mónica García Villegas, director and owner of the Colegio Enrique Rébsamen, who collapsed in the earthquake of September 19, 2017, was arrested this Saturday by capital authorities, after an anonymous complaint indicating his whereabouts, said the attorney General of Justice of Mexico City, Ernestina Godoy.
In a press conference, Godoy said that the owner of the Rébsamen was not delivered, but was detained by investigative police, around 11:28 hours, in a restaurant in Calzada de Tlalpan.
García Villegas is detained in the offices of the Office of the Procurator and later the prison of Santa Martha Acatitla is transferred, he said.
The attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (PGJCDMX) offered a reward of $5 million pesos for those who offered information to locate the head of the school.
Godoy explained that, from April 30 to today, they received a total of 16 citizen complaints about where they could locate it. “We go to all the sites, to Mérida, Guerrero, Puebla, to the state of Mexico, Chiapas and to several sites of the CDMX.

According to the file of the Colegio Rébsamen, the building permit, granted in 1983, allowed the building of the campus to be shared, in a legal way, with a house.
However, the collapse exposed irregularities throughout the construction and extension of the campus, both in the processing of permits and in the verification of safety:
In 2016, the Administrative Verification Institute of the Federal District (INVEA) was alerted by the construction of a garden in the upper part of the construction which, according to the surveys after the collapse by the earthquake, weakened the structure.
For his part, Mónica García stated in September 2018 that she is innocent and that the PGJCDMX lied to the media and the judges, because they never built another level.
