World.-midfielder Hector Herrera explained that he will be absent from the Mexican team during the next Gold Cup, because he sees the need to recover his physical and mental fullness after contesting more than 50 official games this cycle with FC Porto de Portugal.
“I am in need of recovering my fullness after the physical and mental wear of the season where I have disputed more than 50 official matches with his current club: besides having the opportunity to define my professional future”, is read in a statement issued by the Player through their social networks.
Herrera participated this Sunday in the landslide of the “Dragons” for 4-0 on the national club in the city of Madeira, so he still hopes to leave as a champion of the Primeira League of Portugal.
Mexico will make its debut in the Gold Cup on June 15, when measured to its similar in Cuba, where it does not have “Chicharito” Hernandez and “Chucky” Lozano, besides Herrera.
