Five people were killed and five others were injured after being shot to death while working in the community of Tuzamapan, belonging to the municipality of Coatepec, Veracruz.
The events occurred during the afternoon-night of this Thursday. The victims were “lemon traders who were in their workplace,” a local police report said.

The report noted that traders were working when two armed men arrived “and shot at at least 50 occasions.” The motives of the attack are still unknown.
Through his Twitter account, the Veracruz Public Security secretariat confirmed the attack and death of the five people.

On the injured people, the dependency detailed that they receive the corresponding medical care, but one of them is serious.
The attack occurred in a buying and selling center of lemons located in a rather crowded area of Tuzamapan. After the crime, the rest of the traders opted to close their business.

The incident occurs within a month of the Multihomicide recorded in Minatitlán, which is about 500 kilometres from Coatepec, where 13 people were killed, including a minor.
For years in Veracruz, drug cartels maintain a war for the control of the Territory, the routes of passage of drugs and the theft of fuel.
On many occasions clashes between rival groups are given in the street, parties or public restaurants.
