The minister also reported that an investigation will be opened against those who announce exclusive access to private “beaches, lakes and rivers”. If they keep the access closed, they may receive a fine of up to 100 UTM, about $4.8 million.
The Secretary of State pointed out that there are 31 cases under study. These would be properties located in 20 locations, including: Villarrica, in the Liucura River area and north of Pucón; La Ligua, Quintero in the Valparaíso region; Lake Rapel and Boyecura in the region of O’Higgins; Colbún Lake in the Maule region; Concepción in the Bío Bío region, Lake Coburg and Lake Calafquén in the Araucanía region; Panbguipulli, Río Calle Calle and Lago Mihue in the rivers region; and Catrumán sector, Rupanco Lake, Todos los Santos Lake, Llanquihue Lake, Cailín Island and Chapo Lake in the Lakes region.
