A varied proposal of free activities, which seek to reach different audiences, has prepared the Cultural center La Moneda to celebrate Heritage Day 2019 this Saturday 25th and Sunday 26 May. This annual activity, organized by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and heritage, seeks citizenship to know and enjoy national cultural, historical and architectural heritage.
Thus, this weekend the Central Hall of the CCLM will receive three concerts. On Saturday 25th at noon The Metropolitan Children’s Symphony Orchestra (OSIM) is presented, directed by Jeff Parker, which includes in his repertoire compositions of Violeta Parra as thanks to the life and the Rhine of the Angel, among others. That same day, at 16:00 hours, it is the turn of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra (OSNJ). Directed by Juan Pablo Aguayo, this time they will perform an interpretation of the festive overture, Opus 21 by Juan Orrego Salas and the Symphony No. 3 in E flat major, Opus 55 by Ludwig van Beethoven. On Sunday 26 at 16:00 the Metropolitan Student Orchestra (OSEM) directed by Christian Lorca will showcase his repertoire composed of John Williams ‘ Star Wars and Jurassic Park soundtracks and Ludwig Van Beethoven’s N º 2 Symphony in D major.
Along with the music, visitors to the CCLM can access exhibitions of world relevance. In Sala Andes is presented J.M.W. Turner: Watercolors. Tate Collection, a unique instance to know 85 works of the Master of Light, the most important and influential painter of England, who arrives for the first time to Chile. In Sala Pacifico the exhibition Joaquín Torres García. Obra Viva is a journey through the life and legacy of the Latin American artist, with a sample conceived for the whole family, as it allows to interact and play with the replicas of the toys that Torres García designed for her children.
In addition, this will be the first weekend of the new exhibition of the Gallery of Heritage, window to the coin, which gives account of the history of the construction of the palace from 1743 to its consolidation as an axis of the Civic district of Santiago , in the Decades of 1930 and 1940.
