Before a thousand people, the president of the Radical Civic Union and Governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, led the national convention of the UCR and gave his speech in which he referred to change and talked about the economic and political reality in Argentina. In this regard, he acknowledged that poverty increased and debted more to the country but noted that Justice has shown a breakthrough by sitting on the bench of defendants to officials detained for corruption. The UCR convention was carried out in the North Park Ombú Hall. During his exhibition, which began around 20, the president claimed the meeting: “Without arrogance and with great humility we defy the rest of the Argentine political parties to have an event of this democratic quality.” Then the Governor recalled: “We contributed to the triumph in 2015, we did it with an instrument that was to change and achieve the goal. What we have not achieved is to lower poverty, has indebted the country more and we do not have the economic results that the people need, but also can not be unaware that there are more than 60 public officials detained for acts of corruption in Argentina and that is a breakthrough ” .

“We must not shut up, we must say and in parallel build the alternatives to achieve the results. We want to be us, the radicals in a much broader front that achieve those goals that Argentina requires, “he said. He added, “In this document we are proposing to ratify the instrument we had in 2015 to get out of populism. We know that it has not reached, we have not achieved goals that fall in love with the middle sectors that have received in response only the adjustment. That is why we need to correct the political blunders that have been committed in this government. If we do not want to continue making those mistakes, the radicalism in this Convention must ratify change. In addition, we want to try to expand a much broader front that achieves the objectives that we do not achieve here. ” Finally, the President emphasized that citizens should not use their vote to return to the past: “That Argentina does not return to populism, we want to renew the instrument with which we won in 2015. We want to discuss it on equal terms. We have shown good sense, we never vote against any of the projects, but they are not abused, the debate must be frank. We are as members of this coalition as the party that is occupying the pink house. ” We don’t want to be more extorted. We cannot speak in public about the differences that have not been consensual with radicalism. President Mauricio Macri must understand that he has to be tolerant of differences and respect national radicalism, not only because we contribute to his success, but because we have projects and not stupid things to propose. ” In this note:
