In at least three entities, of the six holding elections this June 2, will apply dry law for 48 hours.
The town hall of Puebla, as well as the states of Quintana Roo and Tamaulipas announced the suspension of sale of alcohol from the 00:00 hours of Saturday 1 of June, until the 24:00 hours of Sunday 2 of June.

In a statement, the municipality of Puebla said that the prohibition of sale, disposal and consumption of all kinds of alcoholic beverages is intended to ensure tranquility during the election day.

He also pointed out that the standard applies to «miscellaneous or Ultramarines with the sale of beer and refreshing beverages with an alcoholic graduation of six degrees in closed container», as well as to beer tanks, grocery stores, public baths with beer sales, Billiards, Pulquerías, wineries and restaurants.
It also applies to social lounges, hotels, motels, hostels, among others.

The secretariat of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan) of Quintana Roo said that the application of the dry law will be for the 11 municipalities of the State, in accordance with what is stated in the General law of Electoral institutions and procedures.
However, the state unit explained that the dry law will not apply to «establishments located in tourist areas with the turn of sale of alcoholic beverages exclusively with food».
Meanwhile, the government of Tamaulipas, through the Secretariat of Finance, also announced the prohibition for 48 hours for restaurants, bars, grocery, bowling, recreational or sports centers, cocktail bars, trattorias, lunch shops, tacos, canteens, Kwik, party halls or supermarkets.
«Violation of this provision shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned Law», he stated in a statement.
