The National Institute of Migration (INM) reported that a migrant of Guatemalan origin lost his life yesterday Tuesday when he was transferred to the 21ST century migratory station in the state of Chiapas.
The 33-year-old man was arrested by migratory agents conducting a routine review on public transport, at the height of Mexico Federal Highway 200, in his section of Tapachula-Huixtla.
In a statement, the INM noted that because of his irregular immigration status in the country, he was asked to go up to a truck in the institute and already in a heart attack, so that immigration personnel gave him the first aid and moved for his attention to the center of rural Health Viva Mexico.
When he arrived at the hospital, the person had already died due to an acute myocardial infarction, he explained in a statement the INM.
The Institute gave notice to the consular authorities of Guatemala, in order to provide care and in compliance with the protocols established for this type of events.
