The story of Argentine boxer, world middleweight champion Carlos Monzón arrives this Monday, June 17, on the screen of Space. From 22.00 hours you will be able to see the first episode, of the 13 that complete the biopic.
“Monzón” is produced by Media Distribution and Pampa Films and will tell the highlights of the boxer’s life to the femicide of Uruguayan model Alicia Muñiz, his last partner and mother of his youngest son, Maximiliano Monzón.
On February 14, 1988, Monzón argued with Muñiz who he beat, hanged, knocked unconscious, and threw from the balcony of the house that actor Adrián Martel rented in the La Florida neighborhood of Mar del Plata. For the crime, the boxer was sentenced to eleven years in prison on the charge of “simple homicide”, since at the time, there was no “femicide” cover for such crimes. Now, thirty years later comes the series based on the aforementioned facts. It will star the actors Jorge Román and Mauricio Paniagua, who will play the sportsman at different times of his life.

For her part, the actress Celeste Cid will be the one who will get in the shoes of Susana Giménez. Let’s remember, the diva’s romance with the boxer was one of the most popular of the time; and together they recorded the movie “The Mary.” In addition, Soledad Silveyra will be Elba, Muñiz’s mother. Florence Raggi and Diego Cremonesi (El Cuis in “El Marginal 2”) complete the cast: they will play Dr. Patricia Rosello and prosecutor Gustavo Parisi, respectively.
