More than 50 posters, thousands of actors, and a day to celebrate. 25 years ago, Adrián Suar founded Pol-ka his production company together with Fernando Blanco with the aim of bringing to the screen girl stories that would excite the audience. From the classics “Poliladron”, “Guilty”, “Sleeping with my boss”, “Epitafios”, “Women Killers”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Partners”, “The Pointer”, “To Dress Saints”, to the recent premieres “Argentina Land of Love and Revenge”, “Other Sins”, the production company came to different generations with all kinds of stories to tell.
Whether police, unitary, comedies, daily strips, and more, the production company entertained and shocked hundreds of viewers, who waited for the opening time of each episode, in front of the television. In commemoration of a 25-year career, renowned figures who stood out in several of the fictionals remembered their time in the production company with messages full of nostalgia and gratitude. Carla Peterson, Luciano Castro, Facundo Arana, Jimena Baron, Nancy Duplaá, Mariano Martínez, Lali Espósito, Julieta Díaz, Nico Vázquez, Eugenia Tobal, Marcela Kloosterboer, Mercedes Morán, among others, shared their trajectory through social media.
I went to Polka for the first time when it opened, aged 7 in 1994. My dad did art and scenery of Poliladron. I took a cork-top scorer to the studio and asked Adrián and the entire cast for autographs. The next day I took them to school and I made my barchera, obviously. Dad never saw me, I told him, but it was amazing to me that he took me to that studio, to see the sets, that world of lies that became real with the lights and the film crew. Maybe that dazzle was inside me and had to do with my return to the studio a few years later, I don’t know. Two years later I filmed “El Faro” the film, for a casting of 500 girls that I went to almost by chance. Mom was trying to lower my expectations so I wouldn’t be disappointed in the Empire pizzeria at Chacarita station (we got off the subway and went for a pizza) and I remember Mom juggling to be loving and telling me, she’s probably not going to stay but that had been nice experience. In the middle of her talk, I interrupted her and said, Mommy is not necessary, I know i’m going to make this movie, that I’m going to stay. That’s how it was. And direct called me Adrian Suar, we had a meeting, that when it was over, Adri told me: I just wanted to meet you, I love your work, I want you to be in Polka but I still have nowhere to put you, I have to think. I told him: I don’t want to work at Polka, I want to work at Gasoleros (a program that had come out a few months ago and it was a success). My mom grabbed my knee under the desk as if to say “for God’s sake, how you’re going to say that to Adrian Suar.” Adrian instead laughed surprised and said: ah yes? Well, then I’m going to have to put you in Gasoleros. That’s how it was. And I’m 2 years longer. I did 9 more novels in Polka, I worked 12 hours a day from my 10 years until recently. Thank you @elchuecosuar for the trust, the laburo, you helped me help my family for many years, and fulfill my dream of very pendeja. You gave me fictional families who cared for me and loved me very much. I have your autograph in the cork notebook and I have our picture now, after so much travel together. I adore you. #polka25años

It was 1997 and I was given my first chance at this company, which yesterday turned 25 years old. I started working commercially on what I like most, acting, in a place that would become my second home. Almost 23 years passed and many times. I’ve met a lot of people I love, I grew up and I keep growing every day. I want to thank each of the producers, technicians, artistic areas, directors and actors with which I had to work and train. Thank you for teaching and reconstraining me. I am blessed to be able to live off what I love. I feel like my profession is beautiful and I like to take care of it. Thank you @elchuecosuar for really being the first to give me a chance, it was 23 years since Marcelo Rey told you about a kid, who did theater and wanted a chance. Because you can be born, study and bring a lot of love to it, but it also takes an opportunity. Thank you @elchuecosuar for giving it to me and showing me by example every day.
