World.- A body in advanced decay was found on Thursday in a lake in Florida, USA, after a couple saw 10 alligators devouring it.
As New York Post reports, Otis Crawford, 57, and Patricia Kays, 60, from st. Petersburg’ for breakfast when they suppered the spooky scene.
“It was hard to know if it was a person or an animal,” Crawford told the Tampa Bay Times. “I got out of the car to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing.”
According to the man, alligators dragged the body from the mangroves to the lake and began to eat it. “I saw an alligator pull a piece (out of the body), throw it in the air, catch it and eat it,” Kays said. “I had to get back in the car after that. I couldn’t see anymore,” he added.
The couple told him everything he saw to a nearby city worker, who then called the police.
Police were able to identify the victim as 16-year-old Jarvis Deliford using fingerprints. According to Lt. Matthew Furse, Deliford disappeared on June 29, the day he left a juvenile detention center in Clearwater, where he was sent for violating his probation related to a previous robbery arrest.
