translated from Spanish: In the absence of undersecretaries… there’s only the Corfo left

More than three weeks have passed the ministerial adjustment made by President Sebastián Piñera, and Sebastian Sichel is already installed at his leisure in the Ministry of Social Development. But, despite the days that have elapsed, it is not yet defined who will occupy the position he left in the executive vice-presidency of Corfo, which depends on the Ministry of Economy, where the boss also changed, since, after the departure of José Ramón Valente, the reins of that portfolio they were assumed by Juan Andrés Fontaine.
The appointment is in the hands of the Government, which must define who will hold the office and one of the alternatives could be for the vice-presidency of Corfo to be occupied by a woman.
Among the names that would be around at the government level is that of the director of Institutional and International Affairs of Corfo, Francisca Cruzat, who has been at the head of the Go Global program, which seeks to promote Chilean innovation in the world.
Cruzat is also a councillor of the Municipality of Vitacura and is politically linked to Evópoli. Those close to Sichel and also to characters such as Jorge Errázuriz would support his appointment.
Francisca Cruzat would have sounded earlier as a possible undersecretary, but until now such adjustment in the cabinet was frozen for a while, to avoid re-enacting the conflict between the UDI and RN over political balances within the pine-ring administration.
Among the proposals for Corfo have also circulated names such as Félix de Vicente, José Luis Uriarte and Cristóbal Leturia, although in this case the Representative, and as in most of his appointments, would once again listen to the advice of the chief advisers of the second La Moneda floor, Christian Larroulet.
