The 20-year-old Mirsha Herrera Gastélum was killed on 16 July from a stab wound to the chest in the Bachigualato colony in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
According to a report from the weekly Rio Doce, the events occurred around 13:00 hours on Las Torres Avenue, when the dorados athlete was approached by several men who stabbed him in the chest and then they fled.

The media reported that one of the herity Herrera Gastélum received pierced his heart, and although he was transferred to an IMSS clinic in Newfoundland, he failed to survive the attack.
