A great day lived Nicholas Jarry at the ATP 250 in Bastad, Sweden. The world number 64 beat the young Swedish promise, Mikael Ymer (124 ATP), 7-5, 6-3 and settled in the quarter-finals. Later in the doubles match, he teamed up with the Brazilian, Marcelo Demoliner, taking the win against Pablo Cuevas and Guillermo Durán 6-4, 4-6 and 10-7, also entering the round of eight best ones in Bastad.
Quite the opposite happened with Cristian Garin (37 ATP). Gago fell in the first place to Jérémy Chardy (80 ATP), 6-4, 6-4 and the Chilean duel will not be seen in the quarter-final round of the Swedish tournament. The Frenchman has beaten the Ariqueño four times, becoming his black beast of the circuit.
Jarry’s quarter-final match is scheduled for Friday to be confirmed, against Jérémy Chardy. While in the doubles, you will have to face the Spanish-Portuguese couple, Pablo Carreño and Joao Souza, tomorrow in time to define.
