Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) recorded a loss of 52,789 million pesos in the second quarter of 2019.
This loss is less than in the same period of 2018, when the oil company lost 163 billion pesos. That is, a difference of 110 thousand 383 million pesos less, representing a reduction of 67.7%.

“The most important variables that explain this situation are the fall in the price of the Mexican export mix, lower benchmark prices for gasoline and diesel, and the decrease in domestic sales and export volumes,” the company explained.
So far this year, the state’s production company adds a loss of 88 billion pesos, according to its financial report.
According to the data sent to the Mexican Stock Exchange, its sales fell during the April-June period, registering 376 thousand 648 million pesos. In the same period of 2018 its sales fell 436 billion pesos.

Oil company revenues fell by 59,526 million pesos in the same period, or 14%. They went from 436 billion pesos 174 million from April to June 2018, to 376,648 million, in 2019.
Crude oil production in the second quarter of 2018 was one million 850 thousand barrels per day, while for the same period of 2019 it was reduced to one million 661 thousand barrels per day, or 10.2% less.
