The police are responding to an active shooter situation, with multiple casualties, at a food festival in California, reportedly.

“I’m very afraid for all the families and the people who are still there.” Ambulance crews were receiving reports from at least 11 victims at the Christmas Hill Park event, described online as “three full days of good Food, live entertainment and family fun.” The images show countless people running in all different directions.

Gilroy police officials confirmed the situation of the active shooter to The Post on Sunday night, saying there was at least one gunman on the loose at the festival. They could not confirm whether there were any casualties, or whether the suspect had been captured or located. “I have seen at least 25 police units, many of them from San Jose and addressed to the Garlic Festival,” Lin tweeted. Please, please, keep those people safe.” Additional images posted by the festival visitor who shared the previous cell phone video showed hordes of people trying to evacuate “at 100 degrees of heat.”
Evenny Reyes, 13, described chaos in the East Bay Times and said he saw several people injured. “We were leaving and we saw a guy with a handkerchief wrapped around his leg because he was shot,” he told the local paper. And there were people on the floor crying. There was a little boy wounded on the floor. People would throw tables and cut fences to get out.”
