translated from Spanish: Mario Aguilar denounced discounts to teachers who mobilized

The president of the College of Teachers, Mario Aguilar, sent a letter to the Minister of Education, in which he expresses “concern and discomfort” for the discount in remuneration to teachers in several communes of the country.
In the missive, Aguilar emphasized The commitment of Minister Cubillos in a letter of 8 July, in which he states, in which he reports that “the classes lost in these last weeks must be recovered and the education professionals must thus fulfill their working day , which enables them, at that event, to have no rebates and receive the corresponding remuneration, applying Opinion No 52.122 of the Comptroller General of the Republic”.
The letter notes, in the following paragraph, that “in practical terms, this means that when class recovery plans are approved, there is no need to take discounts as stated in the Comptroller’s opinion that you cite in your letter. Unfortunately their commitment is not being fulfilled in many communes, and more seriously, in SLe (Local Education Services) that have a direct dependence with the Ministry of Education.”
“While it is true that a large part of the supporters have paid full salaries in July, putting their own resources into it, there are also others who have proceeded with the discounts with which in the facts the commitment you assumed is being breached in the aforementioned missive of 8 July. We find this situation regrettable and certainly damage the precarious confidence that teachers have for the educational authorities; it is assumed and expects that signing a compromise is a serious matter and that these must be fulfilled,” he adds.
From the Magisterium they said they hope that this measure will not be a form of “retaliation and punishment for paralysis (…) We therefore think it essential that this situation be corrected and you as Minister of State keep your word.”
Finally, the president of the College of Teachers asked Mineduc to arbitrate appropriate measures to resolve this issue.
