World.- An acid attack survivor has revealed horrific images of himself that were taken a few days after he was attacked by his ex-girlfriend who threw a bucket of acid in his face.

William Pezzulo, 33, became the victim of an acid attack when Elena Perotti and her accomplice, Dario Bertelli, threw a bucket of acid at him in 2012. Despite more than three months in the hospital and 33 surgeries, William is now blind in his left eye, has blurred vision in his right eye, has lost part of his scalp and has no ear.

With the rise of acid attacks in the UK, William has published photographs of the aftermath of his attack to raise awareness of the impact he has had on his life.

William, from Brescia, Italy, said: “On the night of the attack, I left the car to go to my friend’s house and found myself in front of two people: their faces were covered and dressed in dark clothes.
“One of them rolled his neck with his arm, grabbed my hair and lifted my head, while the other person threw a bucket of acid at me.

He decided to publish these images of the aftermath of the attack to raise awareness of the traumatic effects of an acid attack. “My whole life changed after I was thrown that bucket of sulfuric acid, and I know it will never be the same again.”
