For the sixth time, women involved in the Japanese wine industry evaluated the wines that participated in Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards, which highlights the value for money and good pairing with the gastrono Japanese. This year 4,326 wines from 34 countries were received to evaluate wines from around the world from a woman’s perspective. With a scale of 100 points, Double Gold, Gold, Silver medals were selected. Only 48 exceptional wines received diamond trophies.
Award-winning wines are available to consumers in restaurants, supermarkets, wine stores and online.
The competition was created by Yumi Tanabe, one of Japan’s leading and most influential specialized journalists, and is an important platform for participating vineyards to launch and promote them in Japan’s demanding market.
Chilean wines awarded Diamante
After being chosen as Double Gold, the jury chooses only a few to be diamond, where five Chilean wines stood out.
Aresti – Family Code 380 Assemblage 2012. This assembly of the Central Valley is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon 62.0%, Malbec 20.0%, Cabernet Franc 15.0% and Petit Verdot 3.0%.
Caireles – Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2018. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Central Valley.
Ventisquero – Grey Cabernet Sauvignon 2016. Also from Valle Central is a Cabernet Sauvignon 93.0%, Petit Verdot 4.0% and Cabernet Franc 3.0%.
Viña La Rosa – La Rosa Carmenere 2014. Del Valle Central, its variety is Carmenere 95.0% and Cabernet Franc 5.0%
Viña La Rosa – Gran Reserva Blue Label 2014.  This Del Valle Central assembly has Cabernet Sauvignon 65.0%, Petit Verdot 14.0%, Syrah 11.0% and Cabernet Franc 5.0%.
