In the framework of the implementation of the government’s measures to alleviate the crisis, Alberto Fernández criticized the removal of VAT on commodities as it “will not result in a reduction in prices. It will surely become an additional gain for companies.” For this reason, the Minister of Production, Dante Sica, who yesterday explained the measure in press conference, responded to the candidate of the Front of All: “Someone can be against today the Argentines do not pay VAT when they buy milk, bread, noodles, oil, eggs Rice and weed?” he argued.
In a series of messages he wrote on his Twitter, Sica posted that the removal of VAT from commodities is on the AF program: “Now he seems to have changed his mind. We decided to do it,” he said. Finally, he attacked Fernandez’s argument on the tax cut for provincial coffers involved in the measure: “There was no government in history that did more for the provinces and federalism than this one.” Fernández proposed, on the other hand, that VAT be returned “to the most deferred sectors”, a similar measure that the Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises stated in a letter it sent to Sica.
