Hernán Lacunza will leave management in the province of Buenos Aires to take over the Ministry of Finance of the Nation. And it comes at a hot time: it will be up to you to resume the dialogue with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He is 50 years old, married and father of two children. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the National University of Buenos Aires and obtained a postgraduate degree in Economics from The University of Di Tella, and he completed several courses in the United States.
He was Director of the Center for International Economics, under the Chancellery. Then, Chief Economist and General Manager of the Central Bank of Argentina and already during the management of Mauricio Macri in the city, he held the Management of the Ciudad De Buenos Aires Bank.
From a very good relationship with the head of Banco Central, Guido Sandleris, he developed his career at fundación Capital, together with Martín Redrado and Carlos Pérez, current vice president of BAPRO. In 2015 he was appointed by María Eugenia Vidal at the head of the Minister of Economy of the province of Buenos Aires.Lacunza was already in contact with Roberto Cardarelli, the MAN of the IMF in charge of auditing the public accounts of the Government, for his duties in the Province . The last time they met was during a meeting last April.
