translated from Spanish: 4 Jalisco rape cases indicted

The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office reported on the case of a driver already detained and charged for his alleged liability in four cases of rape of women. This Thursday the Prosecutor’s Office detailed that he was already linked to prosecution for one of the attacks, and the judge imposed a year in prison as a precautionary measure.
The company Uber, noted as the platform used by a young woman last July 26 – this fact led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator – rejected that the sexual assault of that day would occur on a contracted trip through its application, although it remains in “total “willingness” to cooperate with the State Prosecutor’s Office.
In a statement, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office told how the events occurred. According to the whistleblower, she had applied for the ride through Uber.

“According to the research folder, a young woman left a bar located on Américas Avenue in Guadalajara and requested the services of the transport company in Uber. The site arrived the now-detained, however, the license plate of the car did not match that shown in the digital application, so the victim questioned the fact,” the Prosecutor’s Office reported.
“Alberto ‘N’ argued that the company’s software was ‘out of date’ and the victim boarded the vehicle. Already on the way the woman checked the app and realized that the map had no movement, so she sent the location in real time to her dad as a warning sign, but the subject stripped her of the cell phone and stopped the car from leaving. When she was at risk the girl tried to get out of the car but couldn’t because she had minor insurance activated, so the subject forced her to hand over her belongings and sexually assaulted her,” she added.
“After the aggression and even with his victim, Alberto ‘N’ drove the unit through the streets of the Providencia colony, then in the downtown area of Guadalajara, and finally on the road to Chapala, but on the return to take Lázaro Cárdenas skidded and hit the car front which was taken advantage of by the affected person who began asking the drivers passing by the site for help, then the aggressor went to the ground leak.”
The detainee, the Prosecutor’s Office noted, is related to at least three other complaints “with the same way of operating”.
