President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he instructed the security cabinet that the National Guard have a specific strategy to prevent and investigate femicides.
When questioned during his morning conference on the need to implement a strategy so that femicide cases are not being fought as homicides, the representative said that work is already being made on a plan that will head the National Guard, although he did not give Details.

“There is an approach being taken, it is being implemented, today we talk about it, that the National Guard has to have a specific strategy for this purpose, from training to research and preventing femicides,” he explained.
The rate of homicide/femicide victims in the first six months of 2019 is 4.4% higher than in the same period of 2018, the year with the highest annual crime figure to date.
In July, 85 research folders were launched by femicides, last month it was 81 and one before had been 75. The crime has been on the rise since April 74. This month this crime increased by 5%, according to the figures of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).

Just on August 16, women from several cities across the country marched and protested against sexual violence and femicide, after on August 12 that they demonstrated in Mexico City to demand justice for rape victims committed, allegedly by police.
