The Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office reported an investigation into the murder of infantry colonel Victor Manuel Maldonado, which occurred last Saturday in the municipality of Ziracuaretiro.

The secretary of the Denfesa, Luis Cresencio, and the Secretary of Citizen Security, Alfonso Durazo, confirmed the death, although they did not detail the way in which the death occurred.
According to the Midmillennium, the colonel was killed in a confrontation with an armed group. According to Reforma, there are versions that indicate that the colonel was ambushed by an armed group, near the community of Aristeo.
