More than 5 years of requests to various authorities by the management and teachers of the Charo Multiple Care Center (CAM) for the improvement of the access and security path, have not been addressed.
As part of her 14th anniversary, the director of the staff, director Yarelli Rodriguez Acosta made the urgent call to both the state government and the federation to contribute to the improvement of the road, since the institution is being wasted, because of having a capacity for 60 to 80 students, it only has 25.
“We have a study that shows that there are more than 110 children with special needs living in the municipality and with school care needs, they cannot attend because of the lack of roads and transport, as these are families with few resources.”
The place that is a couple of kilometers from the municipality also does not have drinking water service and has to be filled by pipes, in addition to having been assaulted more than 7 times by the lack of a perimeter fence and security in its accesses.
The institution is staffed by three teachers, social worker, language therapist, psychologist and has adequate facilities, but does not have the corresponding material, “We continue to expect the support of authorities to be able to take good care of our children.”
The president of parents, Veronica Pille, commented that the municipality supported them with a combi, but moving children in wheelchairs with such roads is a big risk.
“Parents have had to take on various expenses for special education of our children, as it requires material and even a whirlpool tub that the school does not have.”
While the director of the Association for Help people with disabilities, Delia Cruz, commented that it was achieved to get 7 wheelchairs, which are not easy for families to acquire, as they are for children with bifida columns and cerebral palsy.
He noted that there were many needs of these little ones, so he urged the authorities to strengthen support.
