In July 2019, the overall average satisfaction with life reported by the urban adult population scored 8.3, ranking at the same level as in July last year and one-tenth above that recorded in the same month of 2017. However, security is what causes them the most dissatisfaction.
The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reported that, on a scale of 0 to 10, by sex, among men, the average satisfaction with life in July 2019 stood at 8.4, while among women it was 8.2.
According to the results of the Autoreported Welfare Module (BIARE), specific aspects or domains of satisfaction, personal relationships showed the highest average (8.7), followed by those of activity or occupation (8.6) and housing and health (8.4).

Meanwhile, the three areas with the lowest valuation in July this year are satisfaction with citizen security, the country and the city, an order that persists if you look at the results of July 2018.
The agency noted that citizen security shows the lowest level of valuation by the population, averaging 5.3 in July 2019; whereas, in the same month the previous year, it recorded a rating of 5.4.
For its part, satisfaction with the country stands at 6.8, domain that reported the same level in July 2018, he added.
On August 22nd, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said during his morning conference that the people were “happy, happy, happy”.
“And I’m going to support a poll recently done by the Inegi, where people said they are happy, that they are happy,” the representative said of the survey results.
On satisfaction with the city, Ele Inegi noted that the average was 7.3 last July, rising by a tenth compared to the previous year.

Taking into account the assessment of satisfaction with each and every domain, between July 2018 and 2019, the areas of free time, activity or occupation, and city grew; while the assessment with citizen safety decreased by a tenth.
Of the total urban adult population, 2.2% rated between 0 and 4 their satisfaction with life, and 8.1% evaluated it with 5 or 6; 42.4% gave a rating of 7 or 8, while 47.3% indicated a level of satisfaction with values of 9 or 10.
On a scale of -10 to +10, the population’s balance of positive and negative moods in July this year was 6.3, one tenth below that recorded in the same month of 2018 (6.4).
INEGI discloses the results of the Basic BIARE twice a year, which measures the so-called “subjective well-being” to which the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) recommends monitoring by national Statistics.
Subjective well-being is observed from the report that individuals make regarding their own well-being, in relation to three aspects: Satisfaction with life in general and with specific areas of it, called domains of satisfaction.
