translated from Spanish: Sergio Báez reiterates commitment to the municipalities of Michoacán

Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan. – Through a statement it was reported that the local deputy, Sergio Báez Torres participated in the Sixth Regional Forum for the Construction of a New Municipal Organic Law, which on this occasion was held in the coastal municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas.
As part of the Commission for Municipal Strengthening and Territorial Limits of the Congress of Michoacán, the legislator representing the XXI district, reiterated his commitment to the Michoacan municipalities to create better laws that help the full development municipalities with the strengthening of public policies.
In the absence of an update of the current Municipal Law, the members of the Commission for The Municipal Strengthening and Territorial Limits have been given the task of touring the entire territory of Michoacano in order to listen to the municipal presidents and regional authorities, in order to draw on their experience, complaints and suggestions, make an analysis and include the outstanding issues in the next new law.
It should be remembered that the current law is 19 years old without being amended (being created in 2001), so it is urgent to update it based on the needs of the Michoacans today.
Báez Torres has recognized the active participation of local authorities in such forums, as well as the attention of citizens.
Three more forums remain, for the member emanating from the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party to conclude together with his fellow Members of the Commission the work of listening to the munícipes; the remaining cities are Zitácuaro, Ciudad Hidalgo and Morelia.
