Michoacán.- Noting that next year is electoral, the Electoral Institute of Michoacán (IEM) requested a budget of 382.8 million pesos, almost 100 million more than this year which is 286 million 324 thousand 769 pesos.
In interview, IEM President Ramón Hernández Reyes explained that the budget proposal, of those 382 million 882 thousand 064.49 pesos, for prerogatives to political parties will be allocated 229 million 432 thousand 435.40 pesos, equivalent to 59.92 per one percent; while the remaining 153 million 449 thousand 629.09 pesos, corresponding to 40.08 per cent, are contemplated for the operational expenditure of the IEM, mainly personal services (97 million 862 thousand 900.76 pesos).

“We are minimising what are all the activities that need to be done to try to move them to 2021, but there are very important activities such as the creation of 116 electoral committees, the recruitment of staff, the start of the work of projection of tenders for electoral documentation, the Preliminary Election Results Program (PREP) on election day, if this is to be determined,” he said.

Hernández Reyes also ruled out that he is inheriting a debt and explained that the amount of approximately 509 thousand pesos, is a payment to a firm to resolve observations of the Superior Audit of Michoacán of 2015.
It noted that it was a procedure for the institute and not for the defence of specific persons, and therefore defended the situation surrounding that payment, and explained that the observations of the audit without administrative.
He also assured that there will be no pay increases and demonstrated with documents that the salary he receives ranges from 70 thousand pesos per month.
