translated from Spanish: Report on Bartlett is an “attempt to tarnish the government”: AMLO

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the created interest groups that profited from the so-called neoliberal policy are now the ones attacking the head of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Manuel Bartlett.
López Obrador said he was pleased with Manuel Bartlett’s work to rescue the CFE and fight corruption, and assured that the attacks against him are intended to confuse.
These statements are made after the Secretariat of the Civil Service (SFP) reported the opening of an investigative dossier on Bartlett’s estate and estate.

In the program of journalist Carlos Loret de Mola on W Radio, and on his website, a report of journalist Arelí Quintero was released, noting that Bartlett stated that he has “a fortune of 51 million pesos and annual revenues of 11 million” , although in reality, according to the research, its heritage “is 16 times larger… property alone.”
The report adds that Bartlett, through “relatives, companies and suspected loanos, has made a real estate empire of 25 properties (23 houses and two lands) worth approximately 800 million pesos.”
“The report is an attempt to smear the new government,” the president said.  However, he argued that he will not prosper, but that the right to dissent will be respected and everything will be investigated.
“It might seem like a paradox, a contradiction, because our adversaries, the Tories, who engaged in looting now are opponents and are trying to confuse with the purpose of rarerting the environment, to make us all believe that we are all equal, when it is not thus, all these reports have to do with the interests of created groups that profited during the 36 years of the so-called neoliberal politics, which was nothing more than a policy of pillage, that is why the attacks on Manuel Bartlett.”
CFE director Manuel Bartlett reiterated that the report involving him in corruption is false and thanked the SFP investigating him because his entire heritage is transparent. “I have a lifetime in the service of the Mexican government.
I have all the heritage perfectly defined in my statements and have never been accused of corruption in all these years. I’ve handled a lot of resources and it’s all in statements,” he said.
“I appreciate the Public Service starting the investigation because my data is correct, the report is false. I’m credited with properties that aren’t mine,” he said.
