The new digital ID was unveiled on Monday by the national government and will function as a complement to the plastic that all citizens wear. It can be used through the My Argentina app, will be optional and will not work as a replacement for the current document.

Having the same validity as the card document currently used, the application will have a number of security measures to avoid conflicts:A numeric key that users generate when they download it
Screen captures can’t be taken
A signed digital certificate that is made the first time it is downloaded
An electronic reading code
Although it is not yet eligible to vote, since the competent body is the National Electoral Chamber, the application can be used in all formalities that require identity accreditation. However, it is not possible to have a digital ID if the ID was not already processed on the card.
