Morelos deputy José Casas González referred to the women legislators of the local Congress as people who “pulled out of the kitchen to give them a curul.”
This, after requesting a political trial against Labour Party Deputy Tania Valentina Rodríguez, for allegedly incurring contempt of her legislative activities, on the grounds that she no longer holds the Political Board.

“I had the courage to do it in front of the prosecutor and in your face, so, people of Morelos, unfortunately that’s the way it is, we have to go through this Congress, that’s the bad thing to get people out of the kitchen and give them a curul,” the legislator said in tstandavour on the night of Thursday, October 10.

Valentina Rodríguez, for her part, accused the MP Casas of gender-based political violence against her and the rest of her companions.

“In this @MorelosCongreso of 20 deputies 14 we are women and Deputy José Casas in his speech also attacks fellow MPs saying that they are in office for their husbands, when they are women of trajectory and that they have campaigned,” he posted on his account Twitter.
