Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- With the central theme: The transformation of the potato industry: technology and vision of the future, the XVII National Congress of Pope, in its third edition will be held from 6 to 9 November in the facilities of the Center for Multiple Uses (CUM). Organized by Conpapa and Papas Mochis, this congress guarantees a success like the previous ones that have been developed.
Gildardo González Saldívar, president of the specialized agricultural section of potato producers, said that 2,500 attendees from more than 20 states of the republic and countries such as Spain, Chile, Canada, United States, Colombia, Arabia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, England and Germany.The event will develop topics of great importance for the Mexican potato sector, which will help identify the direction and strategies they must implement in the face of an environment of uncertainty and great challenges.

The programme consists of lectures, technical conferences and thematic panels given by experts in the agri-food sector. It will start with a conference by Francisco Rosenzweig, partner of the firm White and Case, adviser on trade negotiations issues of the National Agricultural Council and is undersecretary of foreign trade of the Secretary of Economy.Omar Cabrera, Ahome’s Economic Development Secretary said a spill of 20 million pesos is expected. For his part, the Secretary of Public Security of Ahome, Claros Francisco Rodríguez Ponce, guaranteed safety at the event. Also, in the face of the wave of violence in the state, Gildardo González, stated that no cancellations have been made but on the contrary there are more reservations. It stated that there were total reservations in some hotels.
