Morelia, Michoacán.- The Town Hall of Morelia, initiated the removal of structures and anchors of various businesses on Avenida Acueducto, which they reported in an official statement, represented an obvious violation of the public space and that in some cases crimes against the environment.
“In the face of the firm intention of the Government of Morelia to recover and have in good condition the areas of common use, which are intended, by the provision of the municipal authority, for the free transit and improvement of urban image, the Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance, he sought rapprochement with the owners of the businesses that incurred the flagrant lack of the provisions of the Bando,” they said.
For this purpose, by exhausting the dialogue to its maximum extent, after three notices and by the expiry of the period stipulated in the last of them, which dictated 00:00 hours on 31 October for the application of the law, the City Council began the necessary work for the withdrawal or structures and anchors.
In the withdrawal procedure, the authorities also found some anchors that damaged roots and bark shards of the local flora, which represents an environmental crime, so that the law will be carried out against those responsible.
Inspectors cut off the work area with tapes to make it impossible to use the structures that will be removed completely in the following days.
The operation involved instances and units such as the Ministry of the City Council, the Directorate of Inspection and Surveillance, Municipal Firefighters, Union, Morelia Police, Municipal Public Services and the Ministry of Mobility.
