A police officer from the Citizen Protection Unit of Mexico City was the victim of sexual harassment and abuse by her immediate senior command.
The official reported the facts to the Ministry of Citizen Security, which initiated an administrative investigation against the command appointed through the Directorate-General for Internal Affairs.
Through a statement, the SSC-CDMX upheld the facts and detailed that the Capital Prosecutor also launched an investigation «for the likely commission of the crime of aggravated sexual abuse by a public servant.»

Without giving further information about the complaint, SSC-CDMX undertook to work with the PGJ-CDMX to review the policeman’s poor performance and alleged abuse of authority.
The most recent sexual abuse committed by a capital pre-emptive police officer occurred on 7 September, when a woman reported that the element intercepted her under the pretext of checking her belongings, «he tapped» her and took her cell phone.
The victim filed a complaint for the facts and the case was referred to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation of Crimes Committed by Public Servants and the Capital Prosecutor initiated an investigation into the facts.

In recent months there have been at least 4 cases in which capital police from different corporations were charged with various crimes such as sexual abuse and rape.
So far six police officers were suspended, two have been arrested and one of them has already been linked to the trial.
