From 2015 to 2018 public increased 700% in Nezahualcóyotl, 234% in La Paz and 219% in Chimalhuacán according to national public security system figures.

Other municipalities also increased the incidence of theft on public transport, but to a lesser extent.

In 2015, Cuautitlán, Ecatepec, Los Reyes La Paz, Chimalhuacán and Nezahualcóyotl recorded the following theft rates by public transport for every 100 thousand inhabitants:
Cuautitlán: 70.11 robberies.
Ecatepec: 69.86 thefts.
La Paz: 27.93 robberies.
Chimalhuacan: 8.59 robberies.

La Paz: 93.56 robberies; which meant an increase of 234.98%.
Nezahualcóyotl: 54.41 thefts; which meant an increase of 706.07%.
Cuautitlán: 51.99 thefts; which meant a decrease of 25.84%.
Chimalhuacan: 27.42 robberies; which represented an increase of 219.20%.
State average: 57.48 thefts; equivalent to 10009 cases in absolute terms.

As of July 2019, the cumulative rates for these municipalities were:
Ecatepec: 64 thefts; which represented an 18.8% increase over the same period last year, when it recorded 53.9 thefts per 100,000 inhabitants.
Cuautitlán: 51.5 robberies; which represented an increase of 71.6% compared to the same period last year, when it recorded 30 robberies per 100 thousand inhabitants.
La Paz: 34.1 robberies; which represented a decrease of 35.8% compared to the same period last year, when it recorded 53.2 thefts per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Nezahualcóyotl: 28.9 robberies; which represented an increase of 0.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, when it recorded 28.7 thefts per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Chimalhuacan: 10.5 robberies; which represented a decrease of 37.1% compared to the same period last year, when it recorded 16.7 thefts per 100 thousand inhabitants.
State average: 35 thefts; which represented an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period of the previous year, when it recorded 32 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
During the period under review, the state average for the State of Mexico remained with an upward trend.
In the area of Safety with Welfare, in the penultimate week of August 2019, these Mexic municipalities suffered a decrease that led them to remain in negative numbers; due in part to the constant incidence of theft and violence on public transport.

In the State of Mexico, joint actions with the capital government on security to combat theft of public transport were highlighted, consisting of constant patrol and surprise operations by the National Guard, particularly in the whereabouts and routes of greater influx.
In the same vein, carriers in the Teotihuacán area demanded that federal, state and municipal authorities strengthen road operations to inhibit thefts, which ensure they occur up to six times a day.
For their part, the Ecatepec authorities carried out operations in the main roads of the municipality, in order to detect drugs and firearms in public transport units.
