Facebook inc. today introduced a new logo that will represent the parent company, this means that the logo encompasses the social network of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and the other companies owned by Facebook.
The logo only says Facebook but is characterized by thin, sober lines that deal it more seriously. In addition, the company released a GIF showing the word mark changing color representing, in this way, the other companies it encompasses.
The logo will be used within Facebook’s products and marketing materials, this means that we may see things like «WhatsApp by Facebook» within the apps.
According to the official Facebook statement:
«People should know which companies make the products they use. Our core services include the Facebook app, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Workplace, Portal and Calibra. These applications and technologies have shared infrastructure for years, and the teams that support them often work together.»
